We are delighted to announce that we have recently taken delivery of two new Delmag RH drilling rigs, an RH38 and an RH44.
The new Delmag RH38 has a rear folding mast with a clever mechanism to reduce transport length. Mob and demob times are exceptionally quick and efficient with ABI’s unique Rapid Docking System speeding up the installation time for its powerful BT380 “silent” Rotary Head.
The rig is equipped with the very latest generation 400kW, EU Stage V compliant engine offering greatly reduced noise emissions and improved fuel consumption. The 40m “locking” Kelly bar is ‘sound attenuated’ offering reduced noise emissions of up to 5dbA at 6m.
Our new Delmag RH44 is beast of a machine and is equipped with a powerful 563KW, EU Stage V compliant engine and a BT440 Rotary Drive which delivers 440kNm of torque. This rig also comes with a 40m “locking” Kelly bar that is ‘sound attenuated’ offering reduced noise emissions of up to 5dbA at 6m (a range of other bar lengths are available as hire options).
The mast has rear folding kinematics offering extremely quick mobilisation and set-up times. The top section of mast also folds sideways hydraulically for transport, thereby reducing its transport length. Counterweights can also be readily removed to reduce transport weight, if required.
In fact, the mast and half the kinematics is mounted on a “Quick Hitch” system which permits the entire mast to be removed in minutes for specialist applications - restricted site access locations for example.
The mast is equipped with a full rope crowd system offering numerous configurations. Currently, we have it set-up for either 14m or 20m stroke. Two 2.5m mast sections can be added, thereby increasing the rope crowd stroke to 25m. It is also possible to add a lattice extension to the top of the mast to achieve 32m CFA drill depth (when used in conjunction with a Kelly extension). The ‘free diameter’ around the drill axis is Ø2400mm with a standard maximum reach of 5.2m from the centre of the slew ring.
Both rigs have joined our hire fleet and have been put straight to work on client projects. Further information on the new Delmag rigs can be found on the hire fleet section of our website, or simply give us a call to discuss your requirements on 01604 586960.
You can find more information on both rigs here on our Hire Fleet page.
